fingerprinted

After having 3 hours training and get my fingerprinted, I will become a mentor of a 10th grade student.

During the training, I was shocked that the middle school students in US have so much social problems than kids in China. One lady, now a mom, told us that she was forced to leave home after her parents' divorce. At that time, she just graduated from the high school. If it weren't for his dad's partner, she couldn't gather herself quickly and go ahead. I find that people have similar experience are usually more mature but sometimes they becomes wierd and isolated. I am not sure how one can become mature without experiencing too much pains. That's why I am still so naive.

In class, we were trained to reframe our drinking/sex experiences and we were particularly taught how to handle the situation when a middle school girl gets pregnant. The trainer emphasized "Although there are condom distribution centers in school." We were also told to be prepare for the unpunctuality of the mentee and how to cope with too reserved/too inquisitive kids. One thing important is that we need to understand the subtleness of establishing a relationship. For instance, when calling his/her home, we need to asking whether they would like us to be introduced.

At last, our trainer asked us, "What are the characteristics of the mentors?" Primary answers are integrity, caring, given selflessly, loving. Trainer pointed out that mentors need to be inspiring and supportive. When looking back to my past life, I have never had a mentor, which is a great pity. It will be great fun to have someone that you respect to care about you and advise you.

I like today's training, especially after hopping among 4 projects for the whole day. I am excited at the new role that I will play. Remember, now I have my fingerprinted and FBI will have my record. I need to behave myself. God, pls also bless me.

911 的当天，一个男人睡在另一张床上，老婆来电话。

今天去shoprite时，看到一个印度大妈，买了三盒鸡块和一桶油，付账的时候，发现自己没有带钱包，幸好手上有一张20元。站在她前面的我在想如果她买的东西超过20 元的话，我可以帮她把其他的买下。最后她放弃了那桶油，虽然那三盒鸡不过8元。 我突然觉得很感慨，脑子里闪过如果我老了也是这样，如果爸妈老了。。。 一切一切我都不希望发生。。。

今天在driving range, 看到一个打得超好的大哥，在打完一桶球后，开始耐心的教一个5，6岁大的小弟弟。他以一种很轻松的方法，让小朋友掌握基本功，Body no dancing, use your right foot..nice shot。 他人很幽默，一直鼓励小朋友，给人很温馨的感觉呢，这种感觉让人很快乐。

我喜欢来driving range的一个原因就是自己可以很放松，不用和不喜欢的人讲无关痛痒的话。

今天朋友A打电话问能不能约朋友B出来，因为朋友C对B有兴趣。哈哈，这种大学才应该发生的事，现在还有。不知道是不喜欢这种不自信，还是不坦率。反正就是不喜欢。

　第一，成长环境。成功的投资人大多成长于一个长期自我判断、自我决策、自我激励的环境。如果你从小就容易受到外界的影响，比如听到表扬就开心，听到批评就难过，那么你基本上做不了投资。因为外部的信息会对你的冲击很大，你很难保持内心的宁静。

　　第五，坦诚而直接。一个优秀的投资人性格往往都是坦诚而直接的，这样的性格，有助于投资者抓住问题的关键。而一个犹豫，经常顾左右而言他的人，是很难成为一个优秀的投资人。
　　当然，上面主要是从性格上谈的，一个优秀的职业投资家不仅要拥有以上五点，还需要很多的知识积累和人性磨练，比如需要对宏观趋势有准确的判断，并善于注意细节，而且善于学习，乐于学习等等。

今天去听了李开复的演讲，去听的人只有去听Robin Li演讲的一半多。

李提出了一个比较新的想法，在中国把天使投资的模式带到高度规模化、产业化的新境界。 和private equity 的财务控制不同的是VC 和angel fund 着眼于发现新技术和产品。中国至今还没有提供给创业者的一个好的平台。 李的想法很新，唯一的为题是这样的好的想法到了中国会不会变味。同时虽然不怀疑Dr. Li 的行业见识，但是对于一个从未创过业的人，加之在没有任何其他利益的驱使下要做这件事，并非一件易事。Dr. Li 是不是真的可以做好一个创业者和天使基金中间的牵线人，拭目以待。

对人来说想哭却无法哭是不是最惨的处境呢？
对病人来说无药可治或是药的毒性大于疗效是不是最惨的处境呢？
对医生来说不知病由是不是最大的尴尬呢？
对我来说自身对抗自身是不是最大的难题呢？

最近我不由自主地想到令狐冲这个人物：反正知道自己总是要死的，不如放轻松，今朝有酒今朝醉。 令狐冲对什么事都不认真，无所谓，浑然无我。 生性开朗，光明磊落，从未用过卑鄙无耻的手段。 他单纯的性格让他一直都无法看透“伪君子”，人生道路走得坎坷。 索幸他结交的都是同样光明坦荡，重情重义的人物，此生无憾。

人的价值 How much are you worth?

用财富来衡量人的价值，那是一种最简单易行的方法。财富排行榜比比皆是。 但是这和在中国学校里以分数论英雄又有什么区别呢？

环视周围，综合眼光，学识，气度，修养的人，凤毛麟角。有些有志的年轻人，为了适应环境，变得世故，狡诈。这并不是他们的错，人的价值观和立场都是会变的。就像一个朋友嘲笑言情片的女主角们哭啼道,"你为什么不爱我了呢？你曾和我 bla bla..." 。“曾”就表示是过去式。

有句话说得好，世界上唯一不会变的东西就是变化。人的价值也一样，每天都在变。 如果你的市场价值是由你能创造多少财富来决定的，那什么是你真正的价值呢？

Live as if you will die today

Today I went to do the MRI test. It is an enjoyable experience actually, except that I was injected a kind of fluid in the mid-way.

In the whole process, pictures in my mind were all happy memories. I thought about what I want to do, what I like and yummy food. I should be happy that I have the choice of what I can imagine. I realized that it is a horrible thing of having nothing in my mind and heart. It's lucky that I have enough things to think.

Although I am still struggling in the world and I know there is a pretty tough road ahead. I have no intention of giving in and choosing something inferior.

They did it at best guess.
Do a sanity check.
Support for assumption is insufficient.
The company has negative cahs flow since inception.
Which investment is rated highest for their approach?
It is a good question. Frankly speaking, I am also curious to see their results.
They monitor the position on a monthly basis.
There are wide coverage on the comparable companies. From the analyst point of view the projections are pretty reliable.
The subject company is actually larger than the comparable companies but the exit strategy is to sell it to one of the comparable company.
Some initiative were taken and the operating performance is improving. However, it hasn't been transformed to financial results yet.
But please don't let other people know that.
The only thing I have is at 4-5 pm.
